Gyros With Friends

Refer back to the July 5th post to see Mr Andy's green thumb! A very fast trip to Budapest included an 1.5 hour visit and quick lunch with Mr.Andy, Mrs. Phyllis (affectionately called "Cowgirl" by Ed) & Edith! These guys are our hero's! Instead of them retiring and cursing the world, they came to Budapest and have made a positive difference in so many lives! They opened and operate a Christian Libaray next to the Danube. Through their obidiendence, many people have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior!

On a side note, when we first moved to B'pest, within the first week we ate at this Gyros place. Through the years we've eaten at this no-frills gyros shack located next to the tram line. Of course, any meal is made better when shared with friends!

Hungarians Celebrate A Name Day

Hungarians not only celebrate a birthday but also they have an offical name day. Birthdays are usually celebrated with only the immediate family. In the Hungarian culture, name days are widely known and celebrated among friends, family and at work. In the past years the Hungarians had to chose from a list of official names when naming their new born. Today while visiting with my friend Marta, her little daughter informed me that today was her Mother's name day. The photo was made a couple weeks ago when Marta brought me this beautiful bouquet of flowers!

Chili Today & Hot Tamale

Just in one day the temp dropped about 20 degrees! It's July and a case of extreme temp variations! One day we need a fan, the next day we need a jacket! Ahhhhhh I like this cooler weather!

Hot Peppers & Orchids

Andy's green thumb is much greener than my green thumb!
Sandra, the original owner of the orchids moved back to Canada. When we started to move to the eastern side of the country, we gave the orchids to Andy. It's obvious he has a green thumb!
Oh, the pepper plants. These are from seed that we also gave Andy. Why is it that my pepper plants look nothing like his?

Miracle Babies

Back in April we preached at a church and prayed for a Mother who was very pregant with twins. Since our time there, we have received word that the babies were born and are healthy. This past Sunday we got to see the babies and of course Syble got to hold and kiss on them. The Father once again told us the testimony of the miracle of the children. Not only did he tell us, but he also showed us the medical documentation that he carrys in his Bible. The Mother had her first sonogram on Dec 20, 2007 and was told they found a baby and a tumor in her womb. The church prayed and God answered their prayer by healing the Mother. When she returned on February 4, 2008 she had yet another sonogram. The sonogram showed 2 babies and no tumor. The doctor told the family he doesn't believe in God, but he did acknowledge that a miracle had taken place! The doctor may not believe in our God, but we serve a miracle working God! Praise God for the miracle! Simon and Csilla are beautiful healthy children. Also pictured with them is their older sister who is 2 years old. Aren't they beautiful!
