Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. Psalms 2:8 (NIV)

On A Sad Note
On Thursday morning I visited in the home of Sandor, Elizabeth and Enkio.
Earlier today, Eniko telephoned to inform us that her Dad had passed away during the morning hours. I am so happy that I once again got to visit with him and his family. Many who knew Sandor, knew him on a professional level. They knew him as Sandor the scientist, doctor or philosopher. I knew Sandor as the man who enjoyed cooking and who could make THE BEST stuffed cabbage rolls! I knew him and his delightful wife as ones who also exhibited hospitality.
As I visited and prayed with him only hours before his passing, I shared some of my fond memories with he and his family. As I was reminiscing about the old days, Sandor opened his baby peeps once again to expose his beautiful blue eyes. It was his way of acknowledging me and saying his good bye!
As I'm sure the days ahead will be difficult for those that remain, our prayers and thoughts are with this wonderful family and know that God will surround them with His love, peace and comfort!

A Visit With Eniko
Eniko is the kind of daughter that would make any parent proud! Syble first met Eniko and her parents about 16 years ago.
Today they were able to see each other for the first time since Eniko's wedding which was two children ago! Even under sad circumstances with her father being gravely ill, it was great to rekindle an old friendship.

(The Community Coffee was a gift from Enkio!)

More Than $24 (dollars) Worth of Peanut Butter
Allyson & Rhea came to say good-bye as "the exchange student chapter" in their lives, are drawing to a close. They also had some "LUXURY" items to donate to us! This amount of peanut butter (40 oz) would cost us over $24 at our local Tesco. (that would be for a generic brand) The Welch's Grape Jelly ..... PRICELESS !

They Tied The Knot!
Isvan & Agi tied the knot! They met last July at the translators training conference. (We were guest speakers / trainers at that conf.) In August we invited Isvan over to our flat for a Mexican dinner. He blushed and asked if he could bring someone special? Agi was that special lady. We've seen their relationship go from subtle glances to saying their "I do's" in front of a host of family and friends! Congrats to a beautiful couple!

Squeezing in some special time
The table is set, but the candles aren't burning. Ed is taking care of pastoral duties (Plan A) while I work behind the scenes with Plan B. As our wedding anniversary is drawing near, there seems to be appointments to keep, prayer meetings to attend, phone calls to answer in addition to the behind scene hours spent in prepration for the upcoming service. This is not to mention the endless hours of making sure that translation is secured and music is ready for this weekends service. Our lives are committed to the ministry of the gospel of Jesus Christ! Part of pastoring is being married to the church. I am more than happy to serve in this capacity! I fully believe in what we do and even more, I believe in sharing my faith in Jesus Christ! However, as much as we love giving of ourselves to others, we have to be smart and schedule some time to our selves. So how do we do this?
Syb's Plan - PLAN B - When Ed returns home tonight, my plans are to unplug the phone and post a "closed" sign on the office door. (only for a couple hours) Then we will escape to our balcony to enjoy candle light and sushi! Happy Anniversary Baby!

Back To School
It was my pleasure to once again meet with some of the most wonderful Hungarian students and practice English! In addition to answering questions and general conversation, we sung songs like "If You Are Happy and You Know It....Clap Your Hands", Deep and Wide and of course "The Hokey Pokey"!
As you see, one guy worked up a "foot long" appetite during the two 45 minute sessions!

A Special Mothers Day
It's pretty cool being able to celebrate Mother's Day twice this month. May 4th was Anya Nap (Mother's Day) here in Hungary. Today is Mother's Day in the USA. Syble benifited from the best of both worlds! Today when we met some of the international students, to Syble's surprise, each gave a flower, a hug & kiss and greeted her with a warm "Happy Mother's Day"!

Ustron Poland - Vision Conference - May 1-3, 2008
A special Communion was held in a wooded area. This location was where persecuted protestants organized services secretly in the 18th century. This was time well spent and our spirits are refreshed! In other photos you will see us with the Hungarian delegation that traveled about 10 hours to this conference. It was wonderful to spend time with our brothers and sisters and get to know them even better! The photo of the landscape with snowed covered mountains, was taken while driving through Slovakia. The pastry is Polish and was filled with some sort of smoked cheese and had an interesting taste! Ohhhh the snake........between sessions Syble, our neice Marion Grace and a Hungarian lady climbed the mountain next to the conference center and were greeted by this reptile!

May 4th - Hungarian Mother's Day
Happy Mother nap! Deart. Wanderful Anya! I love you. Kisses. Zsoltar 37:4.5 (Translation: Happy Mother's Day Dear Wonderful Mother! I love you. Kisses. Psalm 37:4 & 5)
With our broken Hung-anglo it's amazing how we communicate. Almost daily we exchange Bible scriptures by SMS and at times talk by phone. Almost weekly we pray together and I cherish those times with one of my spiritual daughters.
For a long time I struggled with her calling me Anya, which is Mother in Hungarian.
September 5 2007 as we were praying together I laid my hand on her and began to pray and prophesy over her when a supernatural Mother's love came into my heart for this dear daughter. Above I am pictured with Anita and the beautiful flowers she gave me for Anya Nap!
